Ireland - North Coast Scenic Drive

We know today that these amazing formations, basalt columns, are formed by volcanic activity and cooling lava. The size of the columns loosely depends on the rate of cooling and as it contracts it cracks in hexagonal shapes. Back in the 1600s though, there was much argument as to whether this amazing causeway was built by man, nature or giants!
